Perception & Perspective

Viewing life through a third eye.

Perception & Perspective

We often assume that what we see is objective. Yet, the more you pay attention, the more you begin to realize that two people can stand in the exact same place, witness the exact same moment, and somehow walk away carrying entirely different meanings from it.

But the question that presents itself here is "do we truly see things for what they are, or only for what they appear to be through our own perspective?"

Perspective is a curious thing. To one person, the sun feels comforting, a warm golden light bringing a calm radiating energy. To another, it feels exhausting, harsh heat, unforgiving and difficult to escape from. The sun itself never changed; only the lives experiencing it did. The fact that the sun is just the "sun", this is the truth. And this truth is perception, what changes is rarely the thing itself, what changes is us.

Our experiences quietly shape the lenses through which we see the world. The disappointments we carry, the people we meet, the places we grow up in, even the smallest moments we barely remember, they slowly build invisible filters over time.

We assume others see the world as we do. We expect people to react the same way, understand the same meanings, notice the same details. But perspective is deeply personal as no two people carry the exact same memories, experiences, fears, hopes, or lived the same situations.

Maybe disagreement is not always about who is right or wrong but it is simply the distance between two different perspectives.
